Dr Charles E Stevens is an associate professor and the vice department chair of the Department of Management and Global Business at Rutgers Business School. He received his PhD in International Business from the Fisher College of Business, The Ohio State University.
Charles’s research centres on the intersection of the international business and strategic management fields, contributing to research streams that include political risk, corruption, liability of foreignness, and global strategy. Charles has a particular interest in understanding how institutions and social judgements, such as reputation and legitimacy, affect multinational firms’ strategies and performance. He is especially interested in these issues in the context of emerging markets, such as Africa and China. Prior to his academic career, he worked for the Ichimiya Group in Niihama, Japan.
Zeal Akaraiwe is the founder of Graeme Blaque Advisory, which specialises in risk management using derivatives. With over 23 years in the financial sector, he has worked with various banks, including Standard Chartered in Lagos, London, and Lusaka. He has a strong background in treasury, sales, and financial markets, and has contributed to the development of the financial industry with notable achievements in structuring derivative transactions and other groundbreaking projects across Africa.
Since 2016, Zeal has successfully led Graeme Blaque Advisory, providing financial advisory services in industries like oil and gas, manufacturing, and agriculture. Moreover, Zeal holds leadership positions in professional organisations and engages in philanthropic ventures through the Angel Project. He has a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from the University of Lagos as well as certifications in risk management, human diversity, psychology, and neurolinguistics from the London School of Economics and Political Science, the University of Cambridge, and the University of Oxford.
