About Professor Kecheng Liu
Professor Liu is a Fellow of the British Computer Society, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management, and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He is a full professor at Henley Business School, University of Reading, where he holds a chair of Applied Informatics. He was the founding head of the School of Business Informatics, Systems and Accounting (2011–2016), and is the founder and honorary director of the Informatics Research Centre.
With more than 25 years' experience working in British universities, he has filled numerous leadership roles and has served in the University Senate since 2002. He has taught courses in business informatics, information management and systems, and digital strategy and leadership at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including on the MBA. During an extended sabbatical from August 2016 to May 2019, he served as the Executive Vice Chancellor of Wuhan College, a private university of 13,000 students in China, sponsored by Charles Yidan Chen, one of the core founders of Tencent.
